and not 01/06/06 = January 6th 2006...

henceforth, the date format should depend of your language profil :
- French : french format dd/mm/yy;hh:mm
- English : english format mm/dd/yy;hh:mm

Please don't change the date format according to the language. They are not directly related.

Please note that the dd/mm/yy format is not "French". It is European and quite international. In Great Britain the format is dd/mm/yy as well. The mm/dd/yy format is American.

However the 24-hour clock is more widely used in continental Europe than in Britain. In Britain the 12-hour clock is used more often. In America the 24-hour clock is never used except for military.

The date format, and time format, should be an independant choice the user can make... probably at the same place as he sets his time zone.

Yes we did make the mistake of according date format to the rabbit's language, it is going to change.

If anyone wishes to write in the date in the American format he or her will be able to do so, by including before the ujual syntax for delayed messages " US" (without the brackets).
