How can we hook into the mic on the tag/tag?

Does anyone know what we can do with the microphone in the API? I'm interested in using it as a way to send audio messages to wherever. How could we intercept this?

BTW, I'm more of a .NET than a LAMP developer. So I'm more familiar with NabazLab type solutions.
