MessageSujet: Rabbit all green except middle light   Mer 31 Déc 2008 - 21:44

So I have the rabbit connected to the wireless. He goes all green. the nose and the base flash between green and red. then then base turns green and the middle stomach light goes from green to off and the left ear only rotates, the right one does not. He then just sits there with all green except the middle stomach.
Apparently when I try to register him it says the site can not see him.
Am I doing sometihng wrong?

Hi,

The rabbit is connected when only the base pulses in violet.
Please have a look in the English zone.
Sincerely,

Please publish screenshots of the configuration of both the rabbit and your router, we'll try to identify if your problem is related to your configuration or a hardware failure of your wireless pet.

seeing the pet on your wifi doesn't mean for sure that it is really connected. Does it have a correctly assigned IP adress ? Is the DNS correctly configured ? Have you a NAT router and/or a proxy that could interfere in the connexion ?

well the router is a d-LInk DIR-655
its an open hidden network - i have the network name put in the rabbit's settings, beyond that, nothing is changed.
It is set for DHCP
the rabbit's mac address is assigned to a specific DHCP address
I can log into the router and see the rabbit on the router.

I have no NAT routing currently for him Ii suspect he may need it) and no Proxy set up on the router at all

i'm assuming he's getting the IP correctly since I see him on the router. When he's not in blue mode should you be able to put in the ip and go to the rabbit's setup page? (i'm assuming no)

not sure what screen of the dozens of screens my router has that could possibly help.

Hi

-I have no NAT routing currently for him Ii suspect he may need it) and no Proxy set up on the router at all

I have none on mine.

-m assuming he's getting the IP correctly since I see him on the router. When he's not in blue mode should you be able to put in the ip and go to the rabbit's setup page? (i'm assuming no)

You assume correct you should not be able to do that in blue mode ad-hoc.

-not sure what screen of the dozens of screens my router has that could possibly help.

I had D-Link routers once and they can be a pain, especially the WLAN config.

Posting screenshots of both your rabbit and your router will help to determinate where the problem is

Unless you have assigned a routable internet IP adress to your rabbit, I think you need a NAT for it. Is your router connected to the Internet or do you share a LAN with an access point somewher else ?

Nah, I meant a fixed IP (sorry I misread yours) I didn't have to enable any port forwarding. I didn't put the router's firewall too restricitive. It works perfectly

OK. So the router makes NAT for all your WLAN to the internet. That's it ? The assigned IP adress is authorized to go outside. Please check it twice winknabz
If you have the opportunity to test the rabbit on someone else network, please do so. It's surprising that it moves ears and then just stops. I had understood that the ears moving was an indication that the connexion was going on to the violet server.
If the rabbit does the same on another WLAN, it may be defective : some kind of memory error, I guess.

Mine suddenly started working today. I'm assuming my emails to Violet caused them to finally do something for it to be recognized.
