possible to make your own services?

I read on a user review on a site where a guy bought a Nabaztag and said he made his own service where the bunny every morning would tell him how many lottery numbers he got correct. My point is can I make my own services like say can I make him tell me a story every day? Is this possible? Can I just set up a website with text that he can read etc? Thanks

Yes, if you can code you can do this.
Brief explanation of how to do it:

Using your language of choice, eg: PHP, write a script that accesses remote data on the web, parses it into the correct format and sends it to nabaztag.com with your rabbit's serial number.
Then just run the script automatically whenever you want (eg: via a Linux cronjob).
Your rabbit will then speak aloud your text (you can choose a variety of voices).

You could enter the text yourself, saving having to access a different website, but this kind of misses the point, as you'd know what to expect. Whereas if your rabbit accessed an external story site for example, it would be a more interesting service.

Bear in mind you only have a limited amount of time for your story too, approx 45 seconds in fact.

so the rabbit can only speak 45 secs of text at a time? I want to link it up to a website where I put info on it. Say I want to put famous quotes on the site and I want the raBBIT TO tell me 3 every day at 10 am. Is this possible? Im just confused on how the rabbit reads the website and all, can I set the time he reads it etc? Thanks

so how would I subscribe to the bookaminute site? Im just a little confusedon how this works. I thought Nabaztag could play MP3s for only 45 secs, so he can speak for no longer then 45 secs also at one time? Im saying could I make a site called say: famousfacts.com and have alot of famous facts that the rabbit could read me once a day? How can I set the time for it to read me say 5 facts at 10am then 10 more at 4 pm etc? Thanks

If your rabbit speaks text aloud, the text is first converted to audio at the Nabaztag website and is then downloaded as an MP3-like file (not a true MP3, but that's not important).
Therefore the length of speech is limited to approx 45 seconds, as your rabbit doesn't have the memory to download larger files.

With respect, if what I wrote earlier is not clear to you then I suspect you are not a web coder, so it won't be too much use to you.
If that is the case, the only way you will be able to get your rabbit to read text from your website, is to create an RSS feed for that website and subscribe to it.
Again, this is going to require some web knowledge from yourself though, and won't be as good as a custom coded service.

One off the wall idea would be to ask someone to code this for you, and in return offer to pay their Full-Rabbit+Friends subscription. Provided you supplied the text files this would be fairly easy to implement.

so basically if I can find someone to make these programs for me then I can make almost anything I can think of as far as text goes? If I want to make a program to make my bunny say:"Hey, you gotta brush your teeth tonight, dont forget ok?" It is possible to make him say that every night at 9 pm? I will pay someone to write codess like this.

I'll write some simple scripts for you in exchange for a full+friends subscription. I've been tempted to make a Nabcast for people to subscribe to, but I'm not keen on paying for that privilege...

I could also do your "random factual message every day" script if you send me your text files. In fact, I could make that service available to anyone if you didn't mind.

Hey great Sheik. That was only a example. I have some great ideas though. We could make a personality for it so to speak. I dont know if this is possible but, say we could make it say: Wow it sure is a early time to wake up dont you think? He could say that like at 10 am. Then at 1pm he could say something like " Man I wish I could eat, its not fair that im made of plastic" etc. Im saying is it possible to make something like this? I would like to make him say 3 phrases like this per day, each day he says 3 new ones etc. Get what im saying?
