News Flash : Update from VIOLET Jan 16th

E-mail Alert
As you know, we have re-activated the service where you can send e-mails to your friends’ rabbits (nabname@nabaztag.com). Now, the e-mail alerts are back as well ! As you may have noticed this last weekend, e-mail alert started working for the tag/tags. The service will also be available to tags later this week. The algorithm for verifying e-mails was reviewed and now work like this :
- When you receive an e-mail that passes successfully through one of your pre-determined filters, your rabbit will play the sound that you have chosen. The filter applies to both the e-mail address of the sender and to the subject of the e-mail.
- The luminous alert corresponds to the number of new e-mails that you have received that have passed successfully through your filter(s) in the past day (resets to zero at midnight) : no mail, one, two, or three or more emails.

Voice Recognition
The voice recognition beta test allowed us to identify a residual bug that was consequently eliminated. This service (which works for the weather, Paris traffic, air quality, and the stock market for the moment) will be deployed progressively amongst all the tag/tags to ensure that the servers can handle the rise in the load.

Services and Light Language
The pages where you configure your individual services are finally going to get the clear explanations that they deserve. The light language will be presented clearly as well where they are needed (weather, traffic, stocks, air quality, e-mail alert) during the course of this week.

The rabbits’ configuration website is now definitely stabilized (but we are staying vigilant). The server disruptions should also not occur any more, unless we are planning to do maintenance and announce it on Nabaztablugs : http://nabaztag.typepad.com/nabaztablugs/

API / Sending a URL to a tag/tag
In order for you to take advantage of streaming MP3s from your Nabaztag/tag, this week, we are developing an evolution in the API that will allow this capability. sorry, but to see the number of emails I received during ONE DAY makes not really sense in my opinion!?
The counter resets ad midnight. Until let's say 10am I received already 5 mails. So ALL 3 lights are blinking. When I want to see at 3pm if a new mail arrived I have NO DIFFERENNCE in the indication to that I had in the morning!? That's silly.
I would like to look let's say every 10 minutes if there are new mails on the server or if they already have been read and deleted from the pop server in which case I want my bunny to show NO LIGHT ( as there are NO MAILS) on the server ... I am not interested in the number of mails I have received during the day as they are more than 3 mails in 100% of the cases ...

i totally understand what you mean, but usually when you place a filter on your emails, it's to limit the number of emails you get amerted for. For example, at work, my rabbit only alerts me if i receive an email from my boss. i use it this way so that i can reply to him as quickly as possible and i don't have to check my e-mail nearly as often as usually, my other emails can wait. believe me, you do NOT want your rabbit to alert you for every single email you receive in your inbox because, if you are like me, you get quite a few per day. you will be driven crazy if you have to hear him say "that message you have been waiting for has arrived". this is why we encourage you to use the filters for specific emails only. oh yeah, as soon as you read your emails that are indicated with the light, the number of lights correspond. the reason it resets at midnight is if you haven't checked your email the day before and they are building up, it resets so that you will only see how many NEW messages have arrived.

@calism8: thanks for your fast reply. But I doubt the statement above!
today I had 11 mails in my inbox (ok, I did NOT set a filter yet - but your opinion in setting filters is logical). Therefore I saw 11 messages in nablife on mynabaztag.com. 3 Light were blinking. Thereafter I read ALL emails in my client (and the messages were removed from the pop server). But the Rabbit and mynabaztag still showed 11 messages/3 lights a few hours later!? ...
Did I get something wrong in your explanation?

Hi!

I gave a nabaztag/tag as a present to my girlfriend - It worked for one day - the night of 9th to the 10th of January.
Now it is breaking down gradually. Since this morning even plugging and unplugging leads to no result. It is going to all green mode - and then it is dying.

Agree 100% with you, I only want to see that there is new mail and then a flashing light, and mail I have read, should make the flashing disappear.
