| Sujet: Bunny needs the vet????? Jeu 15 Fév 2007 - 11:11 | |
| Hi You seem to be the expert on the forums and I am in desparate need of help to save poor bunny from becoming rabbit pie!!!
I just cant get him to connect - Im not big on technical things either so it confuses me. He has all blue lights and I can see him in my network connections but when I try to connect all I get it "waiting for network". I have tried using the static IP address for him but wasnt sure if I needed the DNS details as well. Im really at the end of my tether with this bunny - if I cant solve it he will have to go back but I dont really want to do that.
Please can you help?

| Hy !
Try to create a manually network, named : nabaztagXX with "XX", the two lastest number of your MAC adress.
The bunny is on DHCP, it's better if you don't have any static IP on your card.

| Are you using a Wifi PCMCIA card or a built in wifi?
If your bunny is a tag/tag (new generation), you can only access it with a 32bit wifi card (i.e. not to old one).

| Ok so let's restart the story ok? Unplug your rabbit, press the button and plug it back. release the button at the second where your rabbit is blue. (eeeh the lights not the rabbit itself ) Then do this on your computer : create a new wifi connection and in it's properties put : allows your computer to connect on this netword when it's close (sorry, I don't know the good translation :ooops:) Then type the http://1952.168.0.1 thing in your navigator and then, set up your rabbit. | |

| just had a thought when reading this: when I turned him on initially his left tummy light turned green it was the middle and left that were always orange. Does this mean he could somehow have connected to my router even though it is wep enabled??
I didnt know about the 4 blue lights until after trying him the first time.
LED Status Tummy Left Orange - Connecting To Access Point Tummy Left Green - Connected To Access Point
Tummy Middle Orange - Requesting IP Address Tummy Middle Green - Assigned An IP Address By DHCP (Internal Access Point Protocol)
Tummy Right Orange - Connecting To Nabaztag Server Tummy Right Green - Connected To Nabaztag Server

| When the 3dr light turns green, that means that your rabbit is allowed to go on internet. If this light stills orange, maybe your box or your router is allowing only the devices selected with their MAC adresses to go on internet.
Check this.
The nose light is for the connection to the Violet's servers.
Another thing, do you have a tag or a tagtag (with a navel)? If you have a tagtag you have to connecting it on the infrastructure mode, not on the ad-hoc mode which is for the tag rabbits.

| I have the tagtag - bunny lights are irrelevant as it still wont connect under blue light mode.
What is the next thing I could try - a large saucepan of boiling water perhaps LOL

| Did you try to connect your bunny without any encryption or selection by mac adress on your wifi network?
Just free your wifi network, unplug and plug your rabbit just to see what's happening please.

| To be honest Im very clever with technology and am not sure how to free my router?
How do I find the bunnys Mac address?
If this works then should I set up bunny with WEP kep and then encrypt router again?
sorry to be a pain x | |

| Lol don't worry You'll find the MAC adress of your bunny under it's bottom. If it's working without any encryption it means that your rabbit is alive first good point!!!! Then, you'll have to turn on the encryption of your router and then, set up your rabbit. | |

| sorry a few more questions:
- so to free my router do I just go into the router page and select no encryption? Do I need to restart the computer then?
- if he connects unencrypted I think reconnect to my router and enable WEP? Surely then I'll be back to the position Im in now with bunny not connecting?

| You ask too more questions every where You must have all these informations before connecting your computer with Nabaztag. If you change anything on your router, you must apply on your computer and on your rabbit the same changes. If you select no encryption WEP on your router, your PC and Rabbit must not have a WEP key encryption. If you set a WEP encryption and give a wep key, you must enter same WEP key on PC and rabbit. Both of them must have same settings, no ? | |

| Im really sorry if annoying everyone but I am really upset at how difficult this is. I didnt have all this information beforehand as I expected it to be simple to set up considering it is aimed at the general public.
I cant access the bunnys set up page at all.

| To access rabbit's configuration page, I think we are under Windows rules and not rabbit rules because we must configure wifi access and not a rabbit access. | |
