MSNabaz 0.1 released (MSN bot for Nabaztag)

What is it?

MSNabaz is a MSN messenger bot with Nabaztag connectivity.



For what it is?

While you are away from keyboard, you can log in MSNabaz and go to read our favorite book, or watch the TV, when a msn contact tell you a message nabaztag speech it.

MSNabaz is OpenSource, have a GNU GPL3 license, you can read the code and download it from the website (see down). MSNabaz is writed with Python and is open to collaboration and paths, or suggest.


Run fine on my OS?

MSNabaz run on Microsoft Windows and GNU/linux, must run fine on MacOS but i cant test it.
In the project website can download an Win32 executable that dont require any dependency.

For GNU/Linux users can download the sources and only need Python 2.5, python-gobject.

I just tried your program on vista 32 bits and i can't connect it to msn.
I disconnected myself from the service and when i click on the log in button of your program, nothing happen.
If i click again, i see 'logging out" in the log but that's the only things printed in it.

Now that i closed it, i can't reopen it anymore.

Shadow if wanna help to fix the problem. need know what receive you when run the app from msdos, click on start, and later execute cmd.exe later go to your msnabaz directory and run the program, thix can show why the app not run now.

but the problems of login is other thing... you cannot see the error problem because on win32 exe the error output are silenced. if wanna fix the problem you need download the sources, and comment the line 27 where "sys.stderr = BlackHole()" must be "#sys.stderr = BlackHole()" (without quotes). and download the dependencys not included

I did not succeed in testing MSNabaz 0.1... Neither with Mac OS X (10.5.1) nor with Ubuntu 7.10...
gobject apparently does not exist as a binary for Mac OS : it seems you have to use MacPorts/DarwinPorts - I don't - or compile it...

With Ubuntu, I've had an error (wx not found or something like that) after this command :

I installed what I guessed could maybe help :

sudo apt-get install libwxbase2.8-0 libwxgtk2.8-0 python-wxgtk2.8 python-wxversion

It helped : no more error ! But strictly nothing at all either...

I turn on my ubuntu and installing python-wxgtk2.8 all run fine.

(The gui appear a little moved, but run fine) atleast, connect to MSN.

Edit: For MACOS, reading the macos section on wxpython website can help. http://www.wxpython.org/download.php#prerequisites

Is there a mean to solve my issue ?
Do I pass the right command in terminal ?

I'm going to update my post in the French topic. It's aim is mainly to translate what is posted here ; so, don't worry if you see double posts...

Really, you dont need ANY MSN version, i only show my msn client in the video for show how MSNabaz login session,

I dont touch this development since 1 year back, really dont remember, and cannot give you support because i have all forget,

You are sure that you are using a valid login?
