Autoconnect loopTry=1000 failed.

pixel rebooted today, it just got my attention after 7 hours.
Karotz was not reconnected.

Do you need some of my karotz logfiles?

Ask pixel for his, as I'm still the only karotz on his server.

Not the only Karotz around anymore, Blackie is back!

It's been a while (life has been busy), still running with a rather old version of the emulator, I'll do my best to update (next week probably).

Meanwhile... Blackie will be connected as is.

So what's the idea with adding the httpPort? What function (or future function) does it give to the Karotz?

Httpport used when connecting to a server using a configuration other than port 80 (default for http)
not used to openjabnab.fr but for other servers homemade

I could not find the time to update with the latest version of nabemu.py... but I understand it's not necessary for just connecting the rabbit to openjabnab.

Since I reconnected Blackie two weeks ago, I noticed several unexplained disconnections from the server.
I can't explain them, my connection is very stable so the rabbit shouldn't disconnect.

Where should I look to explain that? Are there logs inside the rabbit maybe?

connects your Karotz with Openkarotz to a nabaztag-server.

Transfer by ftp the content of nabaztag-emulator/* to /usr/openkarotz/Extras.
Now telnet karotz - username: openkarotz password:

cd /usr/openkarotz/Extras
chmod a+x *.py

cp /usr/www/cgi-bin/dbus_events /usr/www/cgi-bin/dbus_events_backup
cp dbus_events /usr/www/cgi-bin
chmod a+x /usr/www/cgi-bin/dbus_events

Have an account on http://openjabnab.fr/ojn_admin/index.php ready with the MAC of your rabbit.

Restart your Karotz.
Push the button at top of the head three times, wait for the funny sound, see your rabbit connected at http://openjabnab.fr/ojn_admin/index.php.

To debug - telnet to your Karotz - username: openkarotz password:
cd /usr/openkarotz/Extras
python nabemu.py
now watch the messages of this script and ask here for help to connect.

I added also a kind of log, based on the value that we give to the variable
if you want to see better what happens between rabbit and ojn set to 1 or 2:

logSW = 0 # value: nothing 0, 1 write file log.txt (warning no size control), 2 console

remember to check the address of your server ojn

try increasing the value in the file nabemu.py

simplified installation added a self-extracting script

selfextract.it.bsx for openznab.it and
selfextract.fr.bsx for openjabnab.fr

copy into /usr/openkarotz

set execute permission
chmod +x selfextract.it.bsx or
chmod +x selfextract.fr.bsx

./selfextract.it.bsx or ./selfextract.fr.bsx

.....

reboot the karotz and after ready voice three clicks in the head

I just tried your emulator, and I give a shot to the self-extracting script.

First: Thanks for your work ! NabzPlus

Now, my feedback:
I think that it's may be a good idea to add in your instructions a "cd /usr/openkarotz" after the copy.
Personally I've done chmod and ran the script from initial telnet connection directory (which is /usr/karotz) without error (as I was typing the full correct path in commands).
So, first step went good but the script partially failed, logging that pwd directory wasn't correct.
After going to /usr/openkarotz the selfextract script run flawlessly.
Just one thing: I watch inside the backup and I was surprised to see the three click section that launch the emuscript ... strange scratch

And Finally, my issue:
After having reboot my karotz I tried to press the button three times and ... nothing. yellownabzsad

I've done several attemps and the only reaction of my karotz were:
- After one button press (append only once): the midi_communion sound
- After two (or sometime three) button press (): the midi_communion sound, briefly, followed by a silent endless taichii with from time to time a small pause, some audio chirps and it start again...

Wait ... I just realised that openjabnab sees it as a nabaztag during this endless taichii ! nabzinlove

So my only remaining question is : How to stop his taichii ? I tried one, two or three button press without success...

I will try to install it on a linux to refresh my memory, in the meantime try to set the variable logSW in the nabemu.py file to 1
...

and then put here the log.txt file so we understand what happens

I already tried to launch the script from shell and I planned to redirect the output to a file, but your solution is cleaner.

Hum ... This is strange.
I've done some test tonight:

First I've notice that nabemu.py doesn't start automatically; neither at boot or after 3 click.
I must launch it manually from telnet. (And to stop it I need to press ctrl+c and use the kill command)

At nabemu.py start: the connexion to openjabnab works nicely.
I can see Sunny from the admin page, and configure and use some plugins (like the TTS one).

But as soon as I try to use the button it' messing everything.
Sometimes 1 button press launch the 2 button action, sometime it doesn't do anything (it keeps pooling button).
Almost every-time a double button press results in a chime and the script failed to a loop of error-reconnect to openjabnab.
I suspected a mechanical issue (I had an issue on a Tag:Tag where the shell was causing button struck), but even without it shell the button doesn't react better.

Here is a copy of the error loop:

While in this loop error the only solution to recover is to exit the python script and kill it.

Also: I'm very surprise that during all theses test and reboot the karotz haven't gone in it's crazy taichii mode (as it was looping in last time)

strange log, it seems that for some reason the connection falls, no other message in the console?

You can try the simulation of the buttons like this:
open two telnet sessions; in one run the emulator
python nabemu.py

and in the other go to the /usr/openkarotz/Extra folder
and run
touch 1

to simulate a click and
touch 2
to simulate two clicks

obviously you should see the reactions in the other session and in the karotz itself based on what you have set up on the server.
