| Hi folks, i am used in configuring rabbits but now I have a strange behaviour which I am unable to solve myself ... when I set my WiFi security to NONE everything works fine, when setting to WEP openSystem it works too ... but as soon I use WEP shared key or WPA (which would be my favourite) the rabbit cannot connect to the router! The router (brand 4G, which is a Wireless UMTS router of an Austrian Phone provider) is on channel 11 and I also tried to set the SSID manually. One strange thing I also recognized: The router is now set to WEP 128 bit but the rabbit sees it as WEP 64 bit!?!? Nevertheless it works Any idea how to get the rabbit working with this router using WPA? thanks for help G

Hi marfab, hi Phabbrrysse, thanks again for trying to help me. @Phabbrrysse: I did DHCP on and it did NOT work ... neither with WEP nor with WPA. Even in WEP (which works now) the rabbit cannot connect to the Router when set to DHCP on ... it only works with a fixed IP. @marfab: I did all the settings you wrote ... no luck! Well, I think it definitely is a problem with the router and not with the rabit. I experience the same troubles with my second rabbit ... when hooked on a NETGEAR router the rbbit works perfect in WPA when hooked to my LINKSYS router then no WPA connection is possible anymore!?!? A friend of mine has the same troubles with his LINKSYS router ... Any further ideas?

| Hi,
Can you give us more details about your router ? Maybe documentation and screenshots.
Have you the choice between WPA TKIP / AES ....
Is the firmware of this router up to date ?
Thanks. | |

| The router is from "4G" it is a German company which produces WLAN router working with SIM cards of mobile providers ... you can see it on www.one.at ... then check H.U.I -> H.U.I Hardware and there you can find it ...
I will add screenshots of the setup pages in a few hours ...

| Ok. As you shawn us, your rabbit must be set on DHCP yes position. So default settings for your rabbit are : DHCP : YES Local IP : 0.0.0.0 Submasknet : 255.255.255.0 Local gateway : 0.0.0.0 DNS : 0.0.0.0
WPA key : use HEX64 in your router configuration If you use WPA key, do not fill WEP key in your router settings.

| Hi again,
even when the DHCP is set to ON it does not work! When setting to WEP and DHCP OFF it DOES work!?!?
Now I took the rabbit in my home where my first rabbit is/was working perfect with WPA encryption. Now I set the second bunny to the EXACT network settings of the first bunny (except I gave him a different IP) and now I am starting to going crazy!!!
My first rabbit (which always worked perfect) has now a flashing green/orange nose (even the help with firmware upgrade and so on did not help) and the second rabbit shows only 2 green (with the same settings!?!?)
HEEELP!
edit: oooops! just saw that they are doing MAINTENANCE today ... maybe that is the problem that my old one is not working. But why doesn't the second rabbit also go to the same status as the first (showing 3 greens and a blinking green/orange nose)?

| For the moment my.nabaztag.com is out of order for maintenance. Don't set up your rabbit until 2 PM.
Nose blinking means it can't reach Violet plateform and at this time is normal beacause Violet plateform is unavailable.
Please give us some screen shot of your rabbits configuration page.

| okay here are the settings:
for my NETGEAR router the rabbit-settings are:
BASIC: http://golfsierra.gmxhome.de/nabaz/basic.jpg
ADVANCED: http://golfsierra.gmxhome.de/nabaz/advanced.jpg
BOTH rabbits now show the blinking green/orange nose (due to maintenance) So it seems that the settings are okay with this router.
As soon as I change the NET to the 4G router (I only change the WLAN-NET) because passwords and IPs are equal, the rabbits only show ORANGE ...

| In advance configuration page, if you use WPA key you must use in my opinion SharedKey position
Second point. your router gives IP address from 192.168.0.120 to 192.168.0.125. Why do you use 192.168.0.138 ip address for your rabbit ?
I know that your settings are right and can works but in your case we will use simple settings.
And now nabaztag's website works fine.

And now nabaztag's website works fine. 1) Well in my PRESENT configuration it also works with OpenSystem ... will change it ... 2) well I like to have FIXED IPs in my network, therefor the rabbit got 38 ...120 to 125 are only for friends visiting me with laptops ... normaly I would not need a DHCP in my network ... Here are the next results: When the "bad" rabbit is connected in my home-network WPA everythings works fine. Now I hooked it up to the 4G router again, set SharedKey, set DHCP on, set 64-digit hex password ... 4 ORANGE CONCLUTION: It seems, that there really is a problem with the router and the rabbit ... I tried now different WLAN-devices (Netgear, Linksys, ...) they all work ... only the 4G makes troubles. So I will buy an extra ACCESS POINT and hook it to the rabbit ... If anyone has a further idea how to get the 4G router working you are welcome to give further information. I for myself stop here with trying because I think 15 hours of trying is enough greetings
