OpenNab 0.02 is released today on Sourceforge.
OpenNab is a software that allows to take control of a Nabaztag/tag wihtout going through the official API while having the rabbit standard features available. Basically, the rabbit talks to OpenNab and OpenNab talks to nabaztag.com.
Who needs such software ? Those who want additional features that go beyond what is offered in the official API.
OpenNab 0.02 has an HTTP API allowing to :
- programatically upload an mp3 file. The uploaded file is identified by a number between 0 and 99999.
- have this mp3 file played by the tag/tag
A sample web page is present in the OpenNab package to test these API features without writing a single line of code.
To install OpenNab, you need an apache http server with php. A fair number for web hosting services should be able to host the software : you can even use OpenNab with no PC at home.
To download OpenNab, just go there : http://sourceforge.net/projects/opennab/
If you have any questions, just post them in this topic.
And be kind : this is still 'alpha' software with, probably, some bugs wandering around.
A great thanks to clayde, gi-aif et Pixel du Rezo. Without them OpenNab would not have the features it has today.
