gAIM plugin

I've finally done it!
The gAIM plugin is in testing, it forwards all signons and signoffs to your nabaztag only when you are set to "away".

This was a right PAIN to write, half of the perl stuff for gAIM doesnt work or has incomplete docs...


INSTALLATION:
(for windows)
You need to install the latest version of ActivePerl before you install gAIM

Then install gAIM 1.50 (for the love of all things, do NOT use gaim beta 2, its nice but the perl side of things is totally bollocksed)

Unzip this file to "c:\program files\gaim\plugins".

Open it in notepad, change the $token and $serial to match your nabaztag

Start gAIM and head into the preferences, enable the plugin (its called TTBUnny).

Whenever you are away, the text "<username> signed on/off MSN" is sent to your bunny

what I'm struggling with, and probably isnt possible with the API, is that I want a message played, but not queued or entered into the mailing list.

so, in this example, someone signs onto MSN, Nab plays a message, and thats it, no nose flashing.

this would be useful to integrate into my X10 Homeseer server.....

just casting my eye over the API again - maybe the 'ttlive' parameter will do this? I'll test later....

Can you detail, perhaps not in tis thread, but in a new one, your intergration of the Nabz within Homeseer.

In fact, we (the froggies) are working of an integration of Nabazlab & HS...
